An Introduction to Peter Lewis

Peter Lewis describes himself as a product of Wales, London Bible
College and Grace. He is the senior pastor of the Cornerstone Evangelical Church
in Nottingham U.K. where he has ministered since 1969. His wife
Valerie is the church's pastoral assistant and they
have two sons, Calvin and Justin.
He devotes much of his time to
a national preaching ministry at conventions, conferences and Bible weeks, and
to writing. He is the author/co-author of "The Genius of Puritanism" (1975),
various Westminster Conference publications, "Chosen for Good" (1987), "Chosen
By God" (essays on Dr. D.M. Lloyd-Jones) and "The Glory of Christ" (1992) "The
Lord's Prayer" (Hodder and Stoughton 1995) and "Gods Honour's List" (studies in
Hebrews 11, Hodder and Stoughton 1996). |

A Word of Commendation
One of the great privileges that my wife and I enjoy as administrators of the D
M Lloyd-Jones Recordings Trust is free access to the collection of messages, on
audio tape and CDs, in the Trust's collection. Not only can we choose from the complete
collection of Dr Lloyd-Jones' recordings, but also from a growing catalogue of
material by other well known and gifted preachers. Yet so often, when we select
material for our own listening, it is to Peter Lewis that we turn. Why is this?
Well the answer, I believe, is simple. Like Dr Lloyd-Jones, Peter has that gift
of unpacking the scriptures in a way that is both doctrinally sound and yet
accessible. His preaching is systematic and expository, having that same balance
between Word and Spirit that was so much the mark of Dr Lloyd-Jones' own
ministry - an emphasis, I passionately believe, that is so desperately needed in
these days. This is preaching that springs out of a living relationship with the
Lord Jesus Christ. It is reformed, intellectually satisfying and practical in
its application. It is also marked by a warmth that makes it very approachable.
I have been immensely blessed by Peter's ministry and am pleased to be able to
offer these recordings to you. May they bring those who hear them to a deeper
knowledge of the Saviour whom Peter Lewis knows, loves and serves.
